We are looking for a Claims Handler Aviation, based in London. Reporting to the Aviation Claims Team Leader you will be delivering effective and efficient Claims Handling support. Responsibilities include handling standard and complex claims on aviation policies, collaborating with other functional areas, processing payments, and producing management information reports.
Job Responsibility:
Handle standard and complex claims on Aviation policies: Airlines, General Aviation and Aerospace
Input and maintain accurate claims records (e.g. reserves, payments) for designated accounts
Process standard indemnity and expense payments
Prepare case for settlement of claims through payment or denial
Produce management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements)
Prepare referral documentation and materials as appropriate
Report loss information internally and externally
Work with other functional areas in the Claims handling process, such as Underwriting and Operations, as well as with colleagues in our offices abroad.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in dealing with aviation claims
Ideally you have a professional insurance qualification, or are working towards it
At ease in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ability to learn new systems quickly
Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework
Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management and avoidance techniques
Knowledge of reserving principles and practices
robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application
Highly organised, able to prioritise and work to deadlines
Positive team spirit and excellent relational skills
A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential.
