Job Description:

The responsibility of a Claims Handler relates to all Healthcare claims generated by the company managed syndicates and the company platform writing UK, US and international business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle claims associated with companies managed syndicates and company platform
  • Provide technical leadership to the rest of the London market on lead files
  • Responsible for the delivery of a high level claims service. This involves regular communication with claims managers and underwriters
  • Assist underwriters in the implementation of their overall underwriting strategy
  • Represent Healthcare claims at events, client meetings, broker meetings and internal meetings (when required)
  • Manage service providers involved in the claims function on a day to day basis

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5x A-C GCSE grades, A-levels or degree
  • Progression towards CII would be advantageous
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role and the Insurance Market, which can be either company or Lloyd’s platforms
  • Insurance claims Industry experience
  • Good technical knowledge of Healthcare (US/International). However candidates with General liability or Professional Lines will be considered
  • Experience of US law and insurance regulations in various jurisdictions would be advantageous however not essential
  • Broad understanding of coverage issues/policy interpretation
  • Excellent IT Skills

Nice to have:

  • Progression towards CII would be advantageous
  • Experience of US law and insurance regulations in various jurisdictions would be advantageous however not essential
