The Claims Clerk is a detail-oriented, service-focused role that provides frontline support to internal and external contacts in an efficient and timely manner. This role will be the Claims Department’s administrative point of contact. Primary duties include organizing and maintaining the email queue and importing and preparing files for claims processing. Additionally, this role will support the administrative needs of the Claims Specialist and the Claims Lead. Occasionally, the Claims Clerk will work closely with claim handlers as a Spanish translator to facilitate claims resolution. This role requires technical skills, a collaborative attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Provide first-line responses and resolutions to internal and external issues via email
Import or build claims and assign to handler
Answer and direct incoming phone calls
Assign emails to the appropriate claim handler
Monitor receipt of payments for payment plans and maintain detailed payment records
Audit delinquent payment plans and report them to the appropriate claim handler
Handle all incoming communication and inquiries that do not require the expertise of a claim handler or manager
Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of all queries in the email queue
Provide translation of Spanish communications
Recommend procedure modifications or improvements as needed
Requirements:
Proven working experience in administrative support role (1 year required)
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
Data entry and word processing skills (required)
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills (required)
Ability to use word processing applications and document management software (required)
Working knowledge of Gmail (required)
Fluency in English and Spanish (required)
