Job Description

Airswift is currently looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer to work in Mobile, Alabama for a major chemical client for an initial 1-year contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with recognized accredited program (ABET) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years relevant work experience
  • Familiar with applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, etc.) required
  • Must be proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to perform field work to gather relevant project data and provide construction support as required

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) certification
  • Prior experience as a Project Manager on single discipline projects
  • Prior experience as a CSA lead on major capital projects
  • Has the ability to supervise engineering staff on industrial projects that range from small to large capital size projects
  • Ability to assemble and review bid packages for civil/structural work scopes
  • Experience with civil/structural analysis software (Risa 3D & Risa Foundation preferred)
  • Has the ability to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on a project
  • Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks
  • Independently applies knowledge and continuously develop the company’s quality program for CSA department. Establishes related processes and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality. Provides guidance and direction to others and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts
  • Has the knowledge and experience to check calculations made by other engineers to ensure code and specification conformance and good engineering practice
