He/She will play a central role in managing and guiding a dedicated team focused on civil and structural calculations and design activities, ensuring technical quality, compliance, and alignment with project objectives. The role requires analytical rigor, a methodical and investigative mindset, commercial awareness, and effective communication skills, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and structural integrity.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate and technically lead a vertical team of civil and structural engineers dedicated to calculation and design activities, ensuring workload planning, technical consistency, and adherence to project timelines
Act as reference point for civil and structural engineering matters across projects, providing guidance and validation at all stages, from feasibility and concept design to detailed engineering, construction, and operational phases
Oversee and contribute to feasibility studies and concept-level civil designs for renewable and industrial projects, including cost estimates and preliminary technical documentation
Define and oversee preliminary assessment of civil quantities during the BID phase
Supervise and validate detailed designs of concrete foundations and structures, steel structures, and domes, developed through CAD tools and FEA-based calculation software
Define, plan, and perform technical reviews of civil and structural design documentation (drawings and calculation reports for concrete and steel structures), including deliverables produced by third-party engineering companies
Coordinate the preparation of material take-offs and material requisitions, supporting the Purchasing department during technical alignment of supplier offers
Ensure the preparation and consistency of technical reports, specifications, and employer’s requirements, guaranteeing compliance with applicable standards, codes, and local regulations
Provide technical oversight on geotechnical aspects, ensuring correct definition of soil parameters required for structural design
Supervise hydraulic design activities related to stormwater and rainwater networks
Coordinate and, when required, take part in site visits and inspections for geological/geotechnical surveys, construction follow-up, and static acceptance testing, ensuring feedback to the engineering team
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in structural engineering, preferably within industrial, power, or chemical plant projects
Proven experience in coordinating engineering activities or small technical teams is highly desirable
Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, applicable standards/codes, and legal regulations (EU and US)
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar) for 2D/3D and drafting
Strong expertise in structural calculations, including FEA analysis (e.g. MIDS or SAP2000)
Solid knowledge of European standards (EN1090, Eurocodes) is mandatory
Knowledge of American standards (IBC, AISC, ASCE) is considered a plus
Familiarity with local permitting processes is advantageous
Ability to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize activities within complex project environments
Capability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines, ensuring team alignment and delivery
Problem-solving attitude, with the ability to proactively address technical and site-related issues
Fluency in professional English
Availability to travel in Italy and abroad (approximately 15% of the time)
