Job Description:

The sucessful candidate will be responsible for managing all civil engineering aspects of the project, including land development works and structural engineering aspect, ensuring that construction activities align with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee all on-site civil construction activities, including foundation work, structures, and land development
  • Ensure construction processes comply with technical drawings, design specifications, and industry standards
  • Conduct inspections to maintain quality control across all civil engineering works
  • Identify, report, and resolve any non-conformities or defects in construction
  • Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and other site professionals
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
  • Monitor and report progress, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing work schedules, resource allocation plans, and risk assessments
  • Enforce site-specific safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory safety requirements
  • Prepare reports for management, summarizing progress, and any challenges encountered
  • Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, material usage, and equipment logs

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in civil engineering roles within the power utilities, renewable energy particularly in ground mounted solar power plant, or large scale construction industry
  • Licensed Civil Engineer
  • Proficiency in construction methodologies and techniques
  • Familiarity with industry-relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools)
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering standards, codes, and regulations
  • Familiar with MS Project or any project planning software
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations as needed
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

Nice to have:

  • Certification in health and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is an advantage
  • Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) certifications an added advantage
  • Experience in ground mounted solar power plant rolling terrain is an added advantage
