We are looking for an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to support a busy defense practice in Tempe, Arizona. This position plays a key role in managing case materials, coordinating litigation deadlines, and helping attorneys prepare matters for depositions, hearings, and trial. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and prior experience supporting defense litigation matters in a fast-paced legal environment. This is a mainly in-office position.
Job Responsibility:
Organize and maintain litigation files, pleadings, discovery materials, and other case-related documents throughout the life of each matter
Coordinate deposition preparation by gathering exhibits, summarizing records, tracking schedules, and assisting attorneys with pre-deposition logistics
Draft, format, and file motions, correspondence, subpoenas, and other legal documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines
Support trial preparation by assembling binders, preparing exhibits, coordinating witness materials, and helping attorneys stay ready for court proceedings
Monitor case calendars to ensure deadlines, hearings, depositions, and filing requirements are met accurately and on time
Review and summarize case documents, records, and discovery responses to assist attorneys in evaluating and advancing defense strategies
Communicate with clients, courts, experts, and outside counsel to help move cases forward efficiently and professionally
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience working as a paralegal in litigation support
Demonstrated background in defense litigation, preferably within a law firm environment
Hands-on experience assisting with depositions, including document preparation and scheduling coordination
Proven ability to support trial preparation with strong attention to detail and deadline management
Familiarity with drafting and managing motions and other court-related filings
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced legal setting
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and maintain accuracy across multiple active matters
