We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join a growing boutique law firm in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is ideal for a Senior Associate or Partner with at least eight years of experience managing complex cases from intake to resolution. The successful candidate will bring extensive litigation expertise and leadership skills to oversee associates and ensure high-quality representation for clients.
Job Responsibility:
Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases, including client intake, case evaluation, investigation, and resolution
Develop and implement effective case strategies, including legal research, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for trial
Supervise and mentor entry-level associates and legal staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality outcomes
Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other court appearances
Provide expert analysis on case facts, legal issues, and potential outcomes, delivering strategic advice to clients
Negotiate settlements, draft settlement agreements, and oversee post-settlement matters
Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, and courts throughout the litigation process
Stay current on procedural rules, legal developments, and industry best practices
Utilize electronic discovery tools to manage and review large volumes of case documents
Ensure compliance with Maryland state court procedures and practices
Requirements:
Minimum of eight years of experience in civil litigation, including case management from start to finish
Active license to practice law in Maryland
Proven expertise in legal research, drafting motions, and briefing
In-depth experience with discovery processes, including electronic discovery involving extensive documentation
Familiarity with Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) and state court procedures
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team of associates
Excellent negotiation and communication abilities, both written and verbal
