We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Intern Engineer (EIT) to join our client’s growing Land Development team. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious engineer who has mastered the basics and is ready to take on more design responsibility. You will work directly with our Senior PEs to lead the technical production of site plans, perform complex engineering calculations, and begin interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
Job Responsibility:
Advanced Design & Modeling: Take the lead on the technical production of site construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including the creation of dynamic surfaces, pipe networks, and complex grading plans
Hydrology & Hydraulics: Prepare comprehensive drainage and stormwater management reports. Design detention/retention facilities and water quality features using HydroCAD or similar modeling software
Utility Infrastructure: Design and profile water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain systems, ensuring compliance with local municipal standards and utility provider requirements
Permitting & Agency Coordination: Assist in navigating the entitlement process by preparing response letters to agency "redlines" and attending meetings with city/county reviewers
Project Management Support: Help track project budgets and timelines, coordinate with sub-consultants (surveyors, geotechnical, etc.), and assist in the preparation of project proposals
Construction Administration: Review shop drawings, process submittals, and perform occasional site visits to ensure construction is progressing according to the approved design
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
EIT
2 plus years of professional experience in land development or site civil engineering
Highly proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (specifically surfaces, alignments, and pipe networks)
