Job Description:

This role plays a critical part in supporting civil engineering design and construction management activities across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will bring strong technical capability, practical field experience, and a collaborative mindset, with opportunities to contribute to research and development initiatives and advance professionally within a dynamic consulting environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, design, and support sanitary and storm sewer systems, watermains, lot grading, and storm drainage designs
  • Assist with construction management activities, including site inspections, quality control, and compliance monitoring
  • Prepare construction estimates, schematics, and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and related CAD platforms
  • Conduct construction inspections to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and applicable standards
  • Collect and document field data related to land surveying, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and infrastructure components
  • Support research and development initiatives through data analysis, testing, and preparation of technical documentation and reports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on civil infrastructure, land development, and environmental engineering projects
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed schematics for mechanical and water/wastewater systems using Revit or AutoCAD
  • Participate in project planning discussions related to scheduling, resourcing, and scope coordination

Requirements:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of road right-of-way design
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including land surveying, construction inspection, and water and wastewater systems
  • Experience with construction estimating techniques and project scheduling tools
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare reports, manuals, and project documentation
  • Ability to accurately perform field data collection in varied environmental conditions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are considered assets

Nice to have:

Experience with Civil 3D, Revit, and MicroStation is considered an asset
