Job Description

BSC is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager (with a focus on Energy and Utility clients) to join our team. The Civil Project Manager will be committed to delivering innovative, sustainable, and resilient solutions for energy and utility infrastructure development projects. The successful Civil Project Manager will play a key role in advancing projects that support grid reliability, system resilience, and the evolving needs of energy and utility clients. You will be skilled at identifying potential risks and constraints early in the project lifecycle – including regulatory, environmental, and system impacts - and developing effective mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery. In this role, you will contribute to the firm’s growth and reputation by delivering high-quality projects, strengthening client relationships within the energy and utility sector, and supporting the pursuit of new business opportunities through consistent project execution and leadership. The ideal Civil Project Manager will demonstrate strong leadership, technical understanding of utility systems, and civil design expertise, and have a proven track record of delivering complex, regulated infrastructure projects on time and within budget. The Civil Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate closely with utility clients and stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery and technical processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards
  • Understanding of utility infrastructure systems
  • Ability to manage complex, regulated, multidisciplinary projects
  • Ability to travel to remote job sites

  • Attend tender handover meeting to understand the project deliverables, including contract obligations, project scope & methodology, identified customer priorities (win themes) and risk & opportunities
  • Organise and attend customer meetings, throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure identified targets and expectations are being met or exceeded
  • Manage pre start meetings of subcontract packages in line with programme and build requirements
  • Review the project and target programmes with the site team to ensure activities are aligned to the planned sequencing of works, and an awareness of lead times for design and procurement is in place. Build and manage delivery plans and programmes (including lookaheads/rolling programmes), coordinating interfaces and various constraints with other contractors and stakeholders
  • Drive the performance of your site team, supporting their development and maximising their potential and effectively manage our subcontract relationships
  • Ensure environmental compliance and sustainable delivery (CEMP, dust/noise/vibration controls and waste management)
  • Encourage all the site team to contribute towards good health, safety, quality and environmental management within their areas of activity and influence
  • Ensure site teams receive and understand necessary updates and skill development
  • Understand and comply with your responsibilities outlined within the Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement
  • Lead safe delivery of works in line with CDM Regulations 2015, site rules, permits and project safety objectives
