Amentum is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager for Las Vegas, Nevada. The Civil Engineering Manager is a critical leadership role within the program, and oversees the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects while providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, strong project management skills, and leadership capabilities. As the Civil Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage engineering and technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of diverse civil engineering projects, such as roads, runways, buildings, utilities, and water systems. You will provide expert technical guidance, manage project budgets and schedules, and act as a primary liaison between engineering teams, operations, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Job Responsibility:
Project Management: Oversee all aspects of assigned projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
Technical Oversight: Provide expert civil engineering technical support and guidance, reviewing and approving designs, plans, and specifications
Team Leadership and Engagement: Oversee project teams, provide guidance, support and mentorship to civil engineers and technical staff
assigning tasks and fostering professional development
Work cooperatively and professionally with Operations and Functional Managers, and all personnel on the contract
Coordinate and share best practices with internal and external stakeholders, as well as other management and supervisory personnel
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and safety standards
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders, preparing and presenting detailed project reports and proposals
Budget & Resource Management: Develop project scopes of work, manage budgets, control costs, and allocate resources efficiently
Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle
Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
Ability to multi-task, adhere to deadlines, and work both independently and cooperatively with union employees, business agents and labor relations
Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement within the program, operational and functional teams, and the company
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, or construction management, from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of academic/technical training
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) is strongly preferred
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in civil engineering and project management, including demonstrated management and leadership applicable in fields of Facility Operations & Maintenance, Construction, and Civil Engineering
Must possess a Top-Secret Security Clearance
Possess a valid state issued driver’s license
Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and be adaptable
