Civil Engineer

• Manages municipal infrastructure and capital improvement projects
• Oversees roadway and infrastructure reconstruction projects
• Participates in the design and engineering of public works projects
• Leads multidisciplinary project teams
• Prepares and manages permits with local, state, and federal agencies
• Acts as the town’s liaison with utility providers and property owners
• Serves as the primary point of contact for residents affected by public works projects
• Supports the implementation of EPA MS4 permit requirements
• Provides engineering support and consultation to other town departments and Boards
• Assists in maintaining records, updating the town’s asset and pavement management databases
• Represents the town in meetings with boards, committees, engineering consultants, and governmental agencies.

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in the field of civil engineering or a related field
• Minimum of five to seven years’ experience with increasing responsibility in a civil engineering or construction environment dealing with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated three to five years’ experience in the design and inspection of roadway and utility construction, including familiarity with survey techniques associated therewith
• Demonstrated experience in contract administration and management.

Professional Engineer’s License preferred but not required
