Civil Engineer, PE - Transportation

• Plan, design, and deliver transportation and airport infrastructure projects, including roadways, highways, intersections, airfields, and landside airport facilities
• Develop geometric design for roadways and airfields, including alignments, profiles, cross sections, grading, and site layouts in accordance with applicable standards
• Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Apply design criteria from AASHTO, state DOTs, FAA (Advisory Circulars), and local agencies
• Coordinate with clients, DOTs, airport authorities, municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies
• Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
• Prepare and review traffic control plans, construction phasing, and airport construction safety and phasing plans (CSPP) as applicable
• Support permitting and regulatory coordination, including environmental documentation and agency approvals
• Provide construction-phase support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and addressing field issues
• Ensure quality control and compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
• Licensed professional engineer in Alaska
• 5–10 years of experience in transportation and/or airport engineering
• Proficient AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office products
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, state DOT, local agency, and FAA design standards
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with multi-discipline engineering staff at various experience levels
• Ability to market the firm's and individual's capabilities to expand client base and enhance relationships with current clients
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to travel to various project sites
• Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
