Job Description

Jones & Henry is seeking a full time Civil Engineer to join our Fort Wayne team. This position will begin their career in the field as a Resident Project Representative (RPR).

Job Responsibility

  • Observe and review assigned construction projects for compliance with engineering plans and specifications.
  • Collect, maintain and organize construction documentation
  • Travel to construction project sites to provide field inspection, documentation and on-site representation for various water and wastewater projects.
  • Maintain strong client relationships as a company’s representative on the project site
  • Communicate between contractor/subcontractor, Owner/Client, third parties and engineering design team.
  • Verify design plan accuracy in the field
  • Consult with Contractors and Engineers regarding construction practices, construction reports, and engineering designs
  • Review changes in construction and materials specifications due to developments occurring during project construction with the Project Manager or Project Engineer

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum at a four-year college.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, procedures and principles
  • Ability to deal with abstract concepts during actual construction
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical specifications and literature with construction personnel
  • Ability and experience in applying strong communication skills to relay technical matters relating to the project to the Project Manager and/or Contractors both orally and in writing
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
