Job Description:

A Civil Drafter/Designer responsible for assisting the civil engineering team on various residential and commercial projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare two-dimensional CAD drawings (plans, profiles, sections and details) for contract documents based on input and guidance from design staff in accordance with internal drafting standards
  • Prepare three-dimensional CAD models and renderings for displaying complex features or structures
  • Maintain drawing files, CAD standards, and other digital files in accordance with internal procedures
  • Prepare graphics for engineering reports, professional papers, and presentations
  • Train other technical staff on drafting standards, requirements and procedures
  • Assist with other administrative office work and tasks on an as-needed basis

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree preferred, experience in lieu of degree acceptable
  • 2+ years’ experience in a position with emphasis on residential developments with working knowledge of multi-family developments, small to medium commercial sites, and institutional campus improvements
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Civil 3D proficiency
  • Experience in the analysis, design, and construction management of land development
  • Experience from the concept to construction completion of a project
  • Layout, grading, storm drainage network design, utility design, erosion control, road networks, specifications, permit submittal and review, field inspections and investigations
