We are looking for a driven Civil Designer to join our Water Division based in either our Brisbane or Gold Coast office contribute to our Water Infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for the design of direct engineering projects such as dams, reservoirs, pipelines, pump stations and various water and wastewater systems including treatment plants. We have a significant workload and have secured highly sought after long term projects.
Job Responsibility:
Perform broad, varied and diverse engineering design tasks on assigned projects under general supervision
Engage in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats
Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, diagrams
Assist senior engineers/designers in providing CAD input to assist with developing and managing the project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing and schedule
Assess potential construction sites, check existing structures for upgrades, and create drawings and schematics of projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software
Assist the senior project civil engineer in preparing the conceptual, preliminary and final design and contribute toward client project meetings
Provide CAD input to engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments and serve as a liaison between senior engineer and design team
Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project
Provide CAD input to monitoring project progress and verify calculations and placements
Assist with inspection of construction sites from time to time with supervision from senior civil engineers
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Engineering (Civil) or similar
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
Civil 3D experience highly desired (12D and similar civil design package experience acceptable with willingness to learn/use Civil 3D)
Minimum intermediate level AutoCAD experience
Ability to work largely autonomously under direction of the Design Lead/Manager
Have a solutions-based approach to projects along with an aptitude to resourcefulness
Nice to have:
Navisworks/Infraworks experience
Experience in water infrastructure design/drafting
