Job Description:

A growing design and construction organization is seeking an organized, innovative, collaborative, and forward‑thinking Civil Designer I to support site development projects. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, development teams, construction teams, and external consultants to develop coordinated construction documentation
  • Assist in producing complete and accurate site design documents that align with project goals, schedules, and milestones
  • Support site design and plan preparation, including: Site layouts
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management
  • Erosion control
  • Utility layouts
  • Participate in site design, consultant, and project team meetings
  • Gather background site data using publicly available and online resources
  • Assist in analyzing site constraints and existing conditions
  • Support zoning code review and research of applicable regulatory and agency requirements
  • Perform foundational CAD drafting tasks and basic engineering calculations
  • Apply fundamental design principles to solve routine problems
  • Seek guidance when addressing unfamiliar or complex issues
  • Perform work with a high degree of collaboration and attention to detail
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and ongoing professional development
  • Establish and pursue annual personal and professional development goals aligned with project and organizational needs

Requirements:

  • Strong mathematical background with a solid understanding of civil engineering principles (e.g., hydrology, grading)
  • Demonstrated interest in site development
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Approximately 1+ years of relevant site development or civil design experience
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) exam
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation
