A growing design and construction organization is seeking an organized, innovative, collaborative, and forward‑thinking Civil Designer I to support site development projects. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, development teams, construction teams, and external consultants to develop coordinated construction documentation
Assist in producing complete and accurate site design documents that align with project goals, schedules, and milestones
Support site design and plan preparation, including: Site layouts
Grading plans
Stormwater management
Erosion control
Utility layouts
Participate in site design, consultant, and project team meetings
Gather background site data using publicly available and online resources
Assist in analyzing site constraints and existing conditions
Support zoning code review and research of applicable regulatory and agency requirements
Perform foundational CAD drafting tasks and basic engineering calculations
Apply fundamental design principles to solve routine problems
Seek guidance when addressing unfamiliar or complex issues
Perform work with a high degree of collaboration and attention to detail
Contribute to a positive team environment and ongoing professional development
Establish and pursue annual personal and professional development goals aligned with project and organizational needs
Requirements:
Strong mathematical background with a solid understanding of civil engineering principles (e.g., hydrology, grading)
Demonstrated interest in site development
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Nice to have:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Approximately 1+ years of relevant site development or civil design experience
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) exam
LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation
