Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work under the guidance of our Senior Engineers to take projects from concept through to production-ready drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D.

Job Responsibility

  • All things CAD and Civil 3D, including building and editing surface and corridor models, alignments and pipe networks in Civil 3D to model infrastructure, and highlighting design constraints and issues to our Senior Engineers
  • Generating full construction ready drawings including plan & profile sheets, cross-sections, typical sections and earthworks volumes, as well as site specific custom construction details
  • Applying NZS 4404 and associated local authority standards, and get involved in design calculations and network modelling as require
  • Exporting drawing sets, managing revisions/markups and issuing for internal review or construction
  • Performing quantity take-offs and material volume calculations to support cost estimate
  • Generating set out data, and manipulating data received to verify claims
  • Develop and bring new skills and software capability to the table, and drive forward our CAD standards

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience working in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, with drawing outputs that demonstrate your skills
  • Natural aptitude for computers and learning new software, as well as an artistic flair to make great looking and easy to read plan sets
  • Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator who can liaise with engineers, surveyors and external stakeholders

Nice to have

Tertiary qualification in civil engineering would be a bonus
