Locum Civil & Criminal Litigation Solicitor / Barrister – District Council (Hertfordshire). This is a 6-month locum contract offering the opportunity to join a supportive legal team handling a varied and engaging litigation caseload. The role requires an experienced advocate who can manage both civil and criminal litigation matters independently and efficiently.
Job Responsibility:
Managing a mixed caseload of civil and criminal litigation matters on behalf of the council
Conducting advocacy in court for a range of hearings and proceedings
Providing legal advice to council departments, officers, and elected members
Drafting and reviewing legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales
Proven experience handling civil and criminal litigation within a local authority setting or similar
Strong court advocacy experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
