We are seeking an experienced and adaptable City Engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will effectively manage in-house staff and outside consultants, maintain strong public relations, and communicate professionally and diplomatically with residents, elected officials, businesses, and state and federal agencies. Working under the Director of Public Works, the City Engineer leads the Engineering Division in a team-oriented setting. Responsibilities include overseeing the planning, design, and construction of roadway and utility infrastructure projects; managing grants, contracts, vendors, and personnel; and serving as the City’s liaison to boards and commissions. The City Engineer also supports short- and long-range planning initiatives. Qualified candidates must hold a Massachusetts PE license and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, with 10+ years of professional engineering experience, municipal experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and GIS systems is required. The salary range is $119,350-$131,768 annually, commensurate with experience.
