CSIS (Citi Security Investigative Services) is a corporate security function operating across more than 100 countries, responsible for the security and safety of Citi's employees and facilities. CSIS leads Citi's response during security incidents and crisis events, valuing employees who prioritize the well-being of colleagues and respond with urgency to a diverse range of incidents. This role focuses on program management rather than direct execution, overseeing and coordinating comprehensive security and safety programs for Citi businesses. The primary goal is to maintain a safe environment for clients and employees, protect company assets, and respond effectively to security incidents, thereby safeguarding Citi's integrity and reputation. This position requires a strategic approach to managing complex security programs across multiple countries or large geographies, ensuring alignment with Citi Security Policy and Standards. The CSIS Security Travel Security and People Safety Program Manager will lead the development, implementation, and management of global security programs with a strong emphasis on travel security, people safety, and special risks. This involves a comprehensive understanding of risk management principles and the ability to integrate diverse security measures to protect Citi's personnel and assets. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, including vendors, local authorities, and law enforcement. This role requires the ability to drive program maturity, ensure continuous improvement, and adapt to evolving global security landscapes. It also entails the ownership and annual review of the CSIS Security Special Risks program and oversight of the California Workplace Violence Program.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the CSIS Security Travel Security and People Safety Program globally
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of security programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate travel-related security risks for all Citi employees and operations
Manage and coordinate the security and safety services in Citi's various businesses and locations, focusing on program oversight rather than day-to-day execution
Drive adherence to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery
Direct the creation of multiple programs of work and manage their alignment to business goals
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets
Own and manage the CSIS Security Special Risks program, ensuring annual review and updates to address high-risk situations and emerging threats
Develop and maintain travel risk advisories and security protocols for employees traveling internationally and domestically, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices
Implement and manage systems for reporting, tracking, and responding to travel security incidents and emergencies
Lead crisis management efforts related to travel security and people safety incidents, working with internal and external stakeholders
Ensure the safety and security of Citi employees during business operations and travel, including executive protection elements where required
Own and manage the California Workplace Violence Program, ensuring full compliance with California Labor Code section 6401.9 and related regulations
Oversee the development and implementation of Workplace Violence Prevention Plans (WVPPs) for all applicable California facilities, including hazard assessments, training, and incident logging
Ensure that all security programs meet business requirements and local legal and regulatory requirements
Conduct regular reviews and audits of security programs to identify gaps and ensure timely remediation
Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to interpret and apply security-related laws, rules, and regulations across all programs
Build and maintain effective relationships with senior leadership, internal business partners, and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, emergency services, and industry associations
Provide clear and concise briefings and advice to senior management on ongoing major security matters
Represent CSIS in various forums, committees, and working groups related to travel security, people safety, and special risks
Facilitate active involvement of employees in the development and implementation of security programs
Manage budgets, display fiscal and budgetary discipline to meet expected spend patterns, achieve goals, and remain within defined budget parameters
Provide oversight in managing vendor contracts for the sub-cluster to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
Ensure that programs are appropriately staffed and resources are allocated effectively
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant qualifications and/or apprenticeships/vocational training programs
Professional security qualification or certification will be an advantage
Extensive experience with security management experience in a corporate, regulatory, or law enforcement environment, with a significant focus on program management
Demonstrated experience in managing and overseeing complex, multi-country security programs, specifically in travel security, executive protection, or special risks
Strong understanding of applicable local and international laws/statutes as they relate to security and people safety
Ability to demonstrate in-depth understanding of risk management principles and innovatively develop solutions to mitigate risks
Experience in leading and managing crisis events or significant security incidents
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead at senior levels across diverse cultures
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and triage multiple security incidents and program deliverables effectively
A deep understanding of the security and geopolitical risks for various countries and regions
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders
Ability to travel, often at short notice, as required by program needs
Proficiency in security technology systems and hardware relevant to program management
Managed security projects and demonstrated ability to execute efficiently under tight time constraints
Knowledge of Operational Risk Management frameworks and regulations for the banking industry
