Job Description

The CSIS Security Officer 2 is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.

Job Responsibility

  • Interacting with multiple businesses across the enterprise
  • Leveraging subject matter expertise in physical security and safety, crisis management, security technology, event security/logistics or vendor management
  • Directing and overseeing security and safety activities of site staff
  • Enforcing security rules and safety standards
  • Participating in training and operational readiness exercises
  • Reporting any issues with CSIS systems and equipment
  • Assessing risk when business decisions are made
  • Driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations

Requirements

  • 0-2 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree/Associate's degree plus equivalent work experience/High School diploma plus equivalent work experience (US only)
  • Experience in adhering current security protocols, operations manuals and guides
  • Proven ability to foster relationships and interface with external agencies to promote functional excellence
  • Demonstrated experience in making sound judgements at a moment’s notice
  • Has maintained corporate assets, to include lease vehicles and equipment in a state of perpetual readiness enough to meet or surpass requirements
  • Can articulates basic understanding of security vulnerabilities and suggests preventative measures to assist in the mitigation of these potential risks
  • Experience in working with security & safety technology
  • Demonstrated ability to follow security and safety instructions and procedures
  • Relevant experience in a private/public sector security environment
  • Professional Security certifications
  • Experience working in a corporate or financial services security team
  • Flexibility to work on call off hours/weekends
