Job Description:

The CISO – CIB Market Operations role focuses on delivering best-in-class cybersecurity practices to protect HSBC’s information and technology assets globally. The position requires an experienced leader with strong visionary management, expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, and ability to guide regulatory adherence and foster a security-first culture across the organization.

Job Responsibility:

Managing a team of staff commensurate with the assigned GBGI
implementation of global Cybersecurity strategy through GBGI and global programs
oversight of cybersecurity control design and operational effectiveness
stakeholder management including executives, boards, and regulators
driving customer-centered culture and advocacy activities
ownership of cybersecurity standards across HSBC
focus on NIST Framework pillars
continuous improvement of Cyber threat landscape controls
assist resolution of security incidents
provide expert knowledge to influence risk management within wider organizations

Requirements:

Significant senior executive management experience delivering a best-in-class cybersecurity practice in large and complex multinational organizations
entrepreneurial approach solving complex information and cybersecurity challenges
strong visionary leadership and communication skills
deep domain knowledge of information and cybersecurity best practices
experience embedding these practices within an organization
ability to drive a security-first culture across all aspects of the assigned GBGI
stakeholder management including GBGI CIO, GBGI/Entity Board(s), GBGI COO(s), GBGI CEO(s), Cybersecurity Leadership, staff, and regulators
oversight mechanisms and internal control standards to identify emerging threats
ownership and implementation of Cybersecurity best practices, standards, and governance frameworks
mapping and adjusting controls to evolving Cyber threat landscapes
ability to act as a single point of contact for Cybersecurity risk reporting
driving customer focus and customer advocacy
continuous assessment and improvement of Cyber threat landscape controls
resolution and remediation of security incidents
engagement with GBGI senior executive management to manage risk within business risk appetite
extensive leadership experience within fast-moving corporate environments handling Cybersecurity issues on a large scale
experience leading international projects/initiatives with a cybersecurity team
ability to motivate people and transform a function into world-class Cybersecurity organization
