The Cisco Telephony Engineer will lead the transition from Cisco telephony systems to Microsoft Teams, focusing on optimizing configurations and ensuring business continuity.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and support the transition from Cisco telephony to Microsoft Teams across commercial sites
Analyze the existing Cisco telephony landscape (licenses, configurations, devices, dependencies) and identify optimization and consolidation opportunities
Plan and execute the phased decommissioning of Cisco licenses in commercial environments
Coordinate and manage the removal of physical Cisco phones, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
Clean up and streamline Cisco configurations to prepare sites for a smooth migration to Microsoft Teams
Assess and document hybrid dependencies between commercial (Teams-target) and manufacturing/laboratory (Cisco-dependent) environments
Ensure business continuity in the current hybrid setup where Cisco remains critical for production environments
Collaborate with Microsoft Teams engineers and other stakeholders to align technical prerequisites and migration steps
Provide technical guidance, risk assessments, and clear transition roadmaps for stakeholders
Deliver structured documentation of the current state, target state, and transition activities
Requirements:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in related fields, preferably Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics areas
Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in a similar role
