Wells Fargo is seeking a CIB Portfolio Manager to join the International-Asset Backed Finance (I-ABF) team, part of the Structured Products Group within the CIB Front Office Support organization in India. The I-ABF team provides direct structured lending (warehouse and term financing) and capital market solutions to institutional clients. CIB Portfolio Manager is an Individual Contributor role who will be accountable for partnering with EMEA-based teams in portfolio management activities. The successful candidate will collaborate and work closely with the I-ABF India leadership team and key stakeholders based in EMEA. The role provides significant opportunities to learn, develop, be an enabler, and become a core/integral member of the team.
Job Responsibility:
Participate in monitoring, documenting, underwriting, and reacting to the credit quality of an assigned portfolio of loans within CIB Portfolio Management functional area and contribute to large scale planning related to functional area
Identify opportunity for process improvements within scope of responsibilities
Review and analyze less complex business, operational, or technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives
Exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the functions, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders
Review monthly servicer/collateral reports to verify completeness & accuracy of information and monitor underlying collateral performance, including adherence to borrowing base, covenants, deal triggers, and credit agreement terms
Prepare quarterly surveillance decks, synthesizing market developments, deal‑level insights, and asset‑class performance trends for senior stakeholders
Conduct interest and fee reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely issue resolution
Perform financial spreading and credit analysis of sponsor, servicer, and parent entities to assess their ongoing ability to support and service transactions, while actively monitoring key developments across the portfolio
Perform Basel submissions for all covered deals by capturing data against the required Basel variables in an in-house portal on a quarterly basis
Assist senior team members on transformation, automation and process-improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, control rigor, and scalability across I‑ABF activities
Partner with EMEA-based teams in portfolio management activities
Regular monitoring of assigned deals by tracking underlying collateral performance, reviewing borrowing base calculations, and testing covenant compliance
Performing quarterly credit reviews of clients to understand their ability to service existing deals
Assisting onshore partners in control-related and ad hoc activities on an as-needed basis
Requirements:
2+ years of CIB Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
B.Com/M.Com or an equivalent qualification. MBA, CA, CFA / FRM or an equivalent qualification would be a plus
Hands-on experience across structured finance or debt capital markets, including credit assessment, deal execution support, portfolio surveillance, and stakeholder coordination. Prior exposure to securitization—including servicing, monitoring, and analysis of ABS, CLO, RMBS, and warehouse lending facilities—will be a strong advantage
Good understanding of financial statements and accounting policies of large corporates and/or financial institutions with ability to comprehend key risks
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint): Advanced knowledge of excel, VBA, python, macros, etc. would be a plus
Strong communication skills – both verbal and written. Ability to speak articulately and strong business writing skills
High level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to multitask across contents in an evolving environment
Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Flexible to work in EMEA shift as per business requirements
Nice to have:
MBA, CA, CFA / FRM or an equivalent qualification would be a plus
