Childrens Hospice Nurse

• Put the experience of children and families at the heart of all you do
• Understand care needs and get to know what's important to each child
• Focus on what children can do rather than limitations
• Provide care at The Ark building or in the community
• Provide 24/7 on-call symptom assessment/management service
• Provide end-of-life care and be a guiding reassuring presence
• Provide essential symptom management
• Give choice of preferred place of care and death
• Create memories to enable as good a death as possible
• Deliver high quality training to team and family members
• Provide direct line management support to Band 5 Nurses and Band 3 & 4 Specialist Carers

• Experienced Band 5 Nurse with palliative care experience ready to step up OR Band 6 Nurse already working in palliative care or with previous palliative care experience
• At least one year's experience caring for children with complex care needs
• Experience managing a nursing team OR experience supporting students, junior staff nurses or support workers
• Excellent clinical and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and lead a multi-skilled team or demonstrate leadership with support
• Share core values of kindness, excellence and courage
• Thrive working autonomously and delivering care alone in the community
• Creativity and play central to approach to care
• Ability to build long-term relationships
• Enhanced DBS disclosure with Child Barring required
