Job Description

Brook Street Social Care are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people across services in Sunderland, Gateshead and Newcastle. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may have experienced trauma, learning disabilities, emotional behavioural difficulties, or complex needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide day-to-day care and emotional support
  • Promote independence and positive outcomes
  • Support with daily routines, education and activities
  • Build positive, trusting relationships
  • Maintain accurate records and follow care plans
  • Ensure safeguarding and well-being at all times

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months experience working in care within the United Kingdom
  • Experience working with children and young people (residential or supported living preferred)
  • A caring, patient and resilient nature
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable but not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable)
  • A minimum of 2 professional references

Nice to have

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People
  • Full UK driving licence
