Job Description

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting Children’s Social Workers to join Bradford Metropolitan District Council on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive local authority with strong career development opportunities across a range of specialist teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Responding to new referrals and safeguarding concerns
  • Completing initial assessments to identify risks and needs of children and families
  • Working in a fast-paced environment requiring strong decision-making skills
  • Managing short-term interventions and determining next steps for cases
  • Supporting, supervising, and developing foster carers
  • Completing fostering assessments (including Form F)
  • Ensuring placements are safe, stable, and meet children’s needs
  • Delivering ongoing training and guidance to foster carers
  • Working with children subject to care proceedings or care orders
  • Developing care plans to promote long-term stability and permanency
  • Building strong relationships with children and young people
  • Attending reviews and ensuring positive outcomes are achieved
  • Identifying and sourcing suitable placements for children in care
  • Liaising with internal teams, foster carers, and external providers
  • Matching children with appropriate placements based on their needs
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and placement standards

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree, DipSW, or equivalent)
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Experience working within children’s services
