Gillespie Recruitment is working with a specialist residential care provider to recruit Children’s Team Leaders for a brand-new multi-site children’s home supporting children and young people with complex mental health needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, values-driven leader to play a key role in shaping a new service, supporting both young people and staff to achieve their personal best — all while developing your own career.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading day-to-day shifts within a children’s residential home
  • Planning rotas and allocating duties to ensure safe, high-quality care
  • Supporting and supervising Residential Support Workers
  • Overseeing medication administration and required documentation
  • Completing audits and ensuring compliance with care standards
  • Acting as a positive role model, leading by example on shift
  • Supporting children and young people to make positive choices
  • Deputising for senior leadership when required

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a children’s residential care setting
  • Ability to support, guide and motivate a care team on shift
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and care standards
  • Confidence completing paperwork and supporting compliance requirements
  • Flexible, reliable and able to respond calmly to challenging situations
