Due to a recent expansion, our Ofsted rated Outstanding Children’s Service in Mirfield are looking for Support Workers to join their service to support our children with complex needs. Orchard Court is our children’s residential home in Mirfield. It boasts seven accessible, en-suite rooms, all of which are wheelchair adapted and fitted with tracking hoists. Since Orchard Court is a home – and a happy one at that! – for children, the communal spaces throughout the home feature paintings and artwork on the walls that have been handpicked to bring a smile to the faces of the children. There’s always lots going on at Orchard Court, with an activity calendar coordinated by a team that bring fun and laughter to the home. The position is for day shifts only, you will be required to do a mixture of mornings and afternoons, as well as alternate weekend working, the option to do long shifts is available once settled.
Job Responsibility:
Provide day to day holistic support to children and young people following the eight intrinsic principles
Ensure the highest quality of care, support, and community experience to assist children and young people who have a range of complex disabilities to maintain a degree of independence and improved quality of life
Build trust, encourage positive routines, and help each child develop confidence and life skills
Requirements:
At least 6 months of UK based work experience in any sector
The confidence to challenge the norm and try new things
Being curious by asking questions and showing an interest in training and development opportunities
Treating people with kindness, dignity, and respecting boundaries
Bringing your best self to work, being happy and positive in the way you work
