Job Description:

Support young people through the ups and downs of daily life. Be someone they can depend on, help them grow, and make each day a bit safer and brighter. Joining Homes for Support means becoming part of a supportive, ambitious team with a reputation for delivering high-quality care. Our homes operate under The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards, which guide everything we do from safeguarding to education to emotional wellbeing. This role is both challenging and hugely rewarding. You will support children through difficult moments, celebrate their successes, and help create the routines and experiences that shape their future. No two days are the same.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support children and young people through difficult moments with patience, warmth, and consistency
  • Build trusting relationships that help them feel safe, valued, and listened to
  • Create positive experiences from shared meals to days out and everyday routines
  • Work as part of a committed team to deliver therapeutic, child-centred care
  • Develop skills, confidence, and resilience that will serve you throughout your career.

Requirements:

  • Compassion, patience, and emotional resilience
  • A commitment to safeguarding children
  • The ability to be a positive role model
  • A warm, child-centred approach
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins
  • Full driving licence
  • Obtain an enhanced DBS Certificate and consent to routine criminal background checks
  • The right to work in the UK - sponsorship not available
  • All staff complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare* if they do not already hold it - we provide full support. Health and Social Care and other equivalent qualifications accepted.

Nice to have:

You don’t need experience in care to join us - just the right values and willingness to learn. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those who have worked in education, youth work, hospitality, customer service, or any role that involves supporting people.

What we offer:
  • Two on, four off working pattern (an average of 10 shifts and 10 sleep-ins per month)
  • 14 days holidays growing to 19 days with long service
  • Enhanced overtime pay rate
  • Health cash-plan to support your health and wellbeing (including optical, physio, dental and more for you and your children)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Mileage reimbursement when using your own vehicle for work
  • Paid training and funded qualifications
  • Recognition awards and monetary bonuses celebrating outstanding contributions
  • A joyful team culture with shared activities and team building
  • Access to wellbeing support and guidance when needed
