We are looking for passionate, energetic, and resilient Support Workers to join our team in Southampton. In this role, you will be working directly with children and young people who need extra support due to learning disabilities, mental health challenges, or complex emotional needs. This isn't your average 9-to-5. No two days are ever the same, and you will be the stable, encouraging presence these children need to thrive, build independence, and discover their true potential.
Job Responsibility
Daily Living Support: Helping children with daily routines, meal preparation, personal care (where required), and attending school or social activities
Emotional & Behavioural Support: Building trust and using positive behavior strategies to help children manage big emotions and navigate challenging moments safely
Creating Fun & Structure: Planning engaging, enriching activities-like trips to the park, arts and crafts, or sports-that promote development and happiness
Progress Tracking: Writing clear, accurate daily logs and incident reports to ensure the wider care and social work teams are fully informed
Requirements
A minimum of 6 months of experience working as a children's support worker or in a similar professional childcare/crisis support environment
The Ability to Think on Your Feet: Children's moods and situations can change in a heartbeat. We need people who can keep a cool head, adapt instantly, and make safe, smart decisions in unpredictable moments
Empathy & Resilience: A genuinely caring nature combined with the thick skin needed to handle challenging behaviors without taking them personally
