Job Responsibility:
Provide compassionate and effective support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities
Assist children in developing essential life skills and promoting their overall well-being
Implement care plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs
Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all residents
Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, observations, and progress
Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic care
Respond effectively to challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
Uphold the highest standards of care and adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements:
A valid full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel within the North East
Essential prior experience working within Residential Children's Homes and supporting children with childhood trauma
Flexibility to travel up to 1 hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for both day and night shifts
A commitment to working a minimum of 3 shifts per week
Proof of valid Right to Work in the UK
Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years
Minimum 6 months of UK experience in residential care home setting working with children
What we offer:
Competitive remuneration with excellent hourly rates: £15.35 for Day shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and £16.88 for Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00)
A favourable flat rate of £57.02 for Sleep-in shifts, following a specific pattern
