Job Responsibility

  • Work directly with children and young people with Autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behavioural presentations
  • Offer a supportive ear, calm presence, and bring fun to their daily lives and activities
  • Forge positive relationships with young people, their families, and external partners, creating a supportive network
  • Tailor your approach to everyone's unique needs and cultural background and actively promote diversity across the service
  • Think on your feet and solve problems creatively to overcome challenges
  • Empower and advocate for all children and young people, at every opportunity

Requirements

  • Previous work and/or personal experience is preferred. However, full training will be provided
  • Excellent English language skills are required, due to some of the communication impediments and learning difficulties, our children and young people may encompass
  • Due to the complexities of the role, you will be 25 years of age or over
  • A resilient individual with strong listening skills and a willingness to learn
  • Relevant health and social care qualifications in children and young people or a willingness to work towards them
  • A genuine desire to make a positive impact and a difference to children's lives
  • Willingness to work a fixed rota
  • You must be able to drive, and a clean Driver's licence with no fault claims is essential
