Job Description:

We are working with Bury Council and are seeking 2 experienced Children’s Social Workers to join their Family Safeguarding Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team supporting children and families through child protection (CP), children in need (CiN), and court proceedings.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a varied caseload of children and families, including Child Protection (CP) and Children in Need (CiN) cases
  • Undertake statutory court work and contribute to care proceedings as required
  • Conduct assessments, develop support plans, and monitor outcomes for children and families
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-agency team including health, education, and other social care professionals
  • Maintain high-quality records and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and statutory requirements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration
  • Experience in child protection, CiN, and court work
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory social work practice
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model with 3 days in the office
