Job Description

Wakefield Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children in Need Social Worker to join our dynamic team. This role involves working with children and families to provide support, manage risk, and ensure the safety and well-being of children in need.

Job Responsibility

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families
  • Developing and implementing care plans and interventions
  • Managing a caseload of children in need
  • Collaborating with multi-agency teams to provide holistic support
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and safeguarding procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Proven experience working with children and families, ideally within a Children in Need context
  • Strong assessment, planning, and intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external agencies
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
