At Prosperity Children’s Service, we provide care for vulnerable children and young people across the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area. Our children and young people receive support from a small team of incredible Registered Managers and Support Workers who strive to engage, motivate, and instill confidence and life skills aiming for the best possible outcomes for them. Due to expansion, we now have a few additional vacancies in our new residential homes. We have a few exciting opportunities for Residential Support Workers to join our team within our brand-new, beautifully furnished homes in the Great Manchester area. Our homes within the Greater Manchester are registered to accommodate between 1-4 children aged between 6-18 who have suffered trauma, child sexual exploitation and may be present emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Job Responsibility:
Support team with overall running of the homes, care team and children in line with OFSTED legislation
Assist in promotion of good childcare practices in accordance with Prosperity Children’s Service Policies and Procedures
Day-to-day support of the children in our care including household duties, cooking, shopping, laundry and adhering to safeguarding protocols in the home
Ensure all children receive appropriate care and education as required in their individualised care plans
Work alongside other support workers and instil motivation to the young people
Be a part of helping children and young people with their personal growth and development
Requirements:
Full UK Driving License
Must undertake Crisis Prevention Institute training
Thrive in a team environment and be flexible with the ability to work a Rota pattern
Experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviours including mental health and behavioural problems
Able to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and nights
Good communication skills
Good written and verbal skills
The ability to problem-solve, de-escalate, and divert attention
Hold experience of looking after children with emotional, behavioural, or mental health conditions
Must be compassionate, calm, resilient and understand the issues and challenges children face
