Provide care for vulnerable children and young people across Lancashire and Greater Manchester area. Support children aged 6-18 who have suffered trauma, child sexual exploitation and may present emotional and behavioural difficulties. Work in brand-new residential homes accommodating 1-4 children.
Job Responsibility:
Support team with overall running of homes, care team and children in line with OFSTED legislation
Assist in promotion of good childcare practices in accordance with company Policies and Procedures
Day-to-day support of children including household duties, cooking, shopping, laundry
Adhere to safeguarding protocols in the home
Ensure all children receive appropriate care and education as required in their individualised care plans
Work alongside other support workers and instil motivation to young people
Help children and young people with personal growth and development
Carry out safety interventions including restrictive holds
Record keeping and report writing
Liaising with local authorities
Requirements:
Full UK Driving License
Must undertake Crisis Prevention Institute training (understanding trauma, de-escalation techniques, communication skills, safety interventions, restrictive holds)
Experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviours including mental health and behavioural problems
Experience looking after children with emotional, behavioural, or mental health conditions
Good communication skills
Good written and verbal skills
Ability to problem-solve, de-escalate, and divert attention
Thrive in a team environment
Be flexible with ability to work a Rota pattern
Ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and nights
Compassionate, calm, resilient
Understand issues and challenges children face
