Are you a dedicated care professional looking to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people? We are seeking experienced Support Workers to join our specialist residential team in Ammanford. In this role, you will provide essential day-to-day support for children and young people with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will be more than just a caregiver; you will be a mentor, an advocate, and a stable figure in a therapeutic environment.
Job Responsibility:
Work directly with and deliver to individualised Care Plans, ensuring every child's unique needs are met
Support young people with disabilities/ASD in their daily routines, promoting independence and dignity
Maintain a strong working knowledge of care regulations and safeguarding practices to ensure a secure environment
Build professional relationships and ensure clear communication with residents, families, and external multi-agency partners
Assist with medication administration and health-related tasks (following appropriate training)
Requirements:
Previous experience within a children's home, social work, nursing home, or assisted living setting
Proven experience working with young people with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities, and/or ASD
A deep understanding of child development and current safeguarding practices
A strong working knowledge of relevant care regulations and standards
Experience in implementing and following Care Plans accurately
Nice to have:
Experience in de-escalation, diffusion practices, or Positive Behaviour Management (PBM)
Experience in medication administration within a formal care or nursing environment
A track record of high-level engagement with families and external healthcare agencies
