Job Description

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for Residential Support Workers on behalf of a national children's residential company. We are looking for an experienced support worker to join the team based in a home on Newark-On-Trent, Nottinghamshire. This is initially a temporary role offering a pay rate of £14.50ph for day shifts and £16ph for waking night shifts along side £46.01 for sleep ins. The rota is set at least 4 weeks in advance and you will do a mixture of early shifts, long days and late shifts. There are also opportunities for this to turn into a permanent role further down the line as well if that was something you are looking for.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide a warm, caring and enabling environment
  • Meet the emotional, social and physical needs of looked-after children and young people
  • Support children who may present with complex or challenging behaviours
  • Advocate for children and model a positive "good parent" role
  • Work within the home's ethos and Statement of Purpose
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and supportive residential service

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ level 3 in Children's residential
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience and flexibility to work a rota including weekends and unsocial hours
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
  • Experience or transferable skills supporting young people with complex behaviours
