Job Description:

Larchwood provides short breaks overnight respite care for children and young people with severe and complex needs. We are looking for a dedicated Children’s Residential Care and Support Worker on a part-time, permanent basis, working 20 hours per week.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in the delivery of a range of short break opportunities including tea visits, overnight stays and weekend play sessions
  • Keywork for a number of children/young people ensuring their care plans and risk assessments reflect their ever-changing needs
  • Develop and support a wide range of fun activities that reflect the children/young people’s wishes and needs
  • Promote children and young people’s independence and communication needs
  • Promote the welfare of children and young people and to contribute to ensuring that children are safeguarded from abuse

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled and motivated team player
  • Enthusiastic about providing the highest quality of care and support
  • Ability to work a rota pattern published one month in advance
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • Must currently reside in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS Check required
