This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise and personal touch to a newly established environment that's ready to welcome its first residents.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading the establishment of a new children's home, ensuring it meets all regulatory standards and is a safe, nurturing environment
  • Managing the referral process and having autonomy over admissions to ensure the right young people are supported
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations, staff management, and maintaining high standards of care
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and external agencies to support positive outcomes
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the home, adding your own stamp to create a warm, welcoming space

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a focus on their well being and development
  • Experience in managing children's homes, particularly EBD (Emotionally and Behaviourally Difficult) settings
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • A proactive, compassionate approach, driven by the right reasons to support vulnerable young people

  • To lead a team of care workers
  • The development and delivery of high-quality care in accordance with relevant Legislation, Regulations, including Ofsted SCCIF
  • Adherence to all legislative guidelines in respect of Health & Safety
  • The keeping of appropriate records relating to both young people and employees
  • The provision of management information including the collection and return of statistical information
  • To develop and promote new techniques and approaches to childcare provision based in the home
  • To attend, prepare for and chair various meetings both internally and externally
  • On a rota basis to take on-call responsibilities
  • The ability to write concise and evaluative reports and oversee all written communication
