Job Description

We are looking for a Children's Home Deputy Manager who brings skill, heart and beaming with positivity to our team. This is your chance to contribute to a warm, nurturing home where our children feel safe, supported and genuinely cared for. You will be leading shifts, supporting staff, and working closely with the Registered Manager keeping everything running smoothly and in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.

Requirements

  • A full driving licence
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management
  • Experience in children’s residential care

  • Working alongside the Manager to oversee the day to day running of the Residential Home
  • Ensuring that our Young People receive the highest standard of support/care appropriate to their individual needs
  • Providing advice, assistance, and support to Young People, safeguarding their welfare at all times
  • Line Managing a team of staff as set out by the Home Manager
  • Completing supervisions, appraisals and probationary review meetings with team members as required
  • Ensuring that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
  • Ensuring shifts are planned with Residential Support Workers, to take the lead on shift and be responsible for the events on the shift
  • Attending to Young People’s practical, physical, and emotional needs and acting as an appropriate role model
  • Working closely with Young People to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential
  • Completing written reports and documentation
