If you are passionate about delivering compassionate, child-centred care, we’d love to hear from you.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating environment and record the child’s condition, taking appropriate action
  • Organize daily activities and attend training and supervision sessions
  • Complete the HCRG Care Certificate within 3 months (if required) and stay updated with relevant training
  • Follow infection control and health & safety policies, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Communicate effectively, especially in situations with communication barriers, and liaise with the child’s care team
  • Participate in team meetings, maintain accurate records, and support colleagues by sharing information and addressing concerns

Requirements:

  • Understanding the impact of providing/receiving care in the home for children with complex medical needs and their families
  • Ability to participate in training of new staff in a variety of settings
  • Willingness to work towards “experienced to teach” part of Competency Framework
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to relate to children
  • Full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes

Nice to have:

  • NVQ 3 in health or social care or recognised nursery nurse qualification
  • GCSE in Maths and English
  • British Sign Language level 1
  • Makaton
  • Experience of relevant clinical procedures and technology dependency
  • Minimum of 1yr experience working with children with complex health needs
  • Minimum of 1yr working with children in other setting, e.g. nursery, respite service
What we offer:
  • Starting salary of £24,486 plus Group Pension
  • Free tea and coffee at your base location
  • Membership of My Reward Hub, giving you access to discounts on every day purchases like grocery shopping as well as cashback and voucher offers for treats for you and those special to you
  • Access to your wages as you earn them to help cover life’s emergencies and avoid overdraft fees or high interest rates
  • Online and face to face help with your mental and physical wellbeing – from healthy recipes and activity challenges through to post trauma support, legal, debt and life management help, as well career coaching and counselling
  • Access to eLearning, bespoke career pathways and opportunities for continuing professional development through our ‘Outstanding’ learning and development team, The Learning Enterprise
  • An open, just culture where you’re encouraged to have and implement ideas which can help us deliver our purpose: changing lives through transforming health and care – backed up by at least £100,000 of ringfenced innovation funding each year
  • The pride of working for an organisation committed to the highest clinical and quality standards: with a majority of our rated services holding “good” or “outstanding” ratings from the Care Quality Commission
