Job Description:

At IKEA, you will contribute to creating a safe and pleasant environment for children visiting Småland, participate in planning kids’ activities, maintain a clean environment, and support the customer experience function. This part-time permanent position offers various benefits and requires retail or childcare experience, including CPR/First Aid certification.

  • Register children, monitor and entertain children while in the playroom, and maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Participate in the planning and execution of children’s activities both in and outside of Småland
  • Build meaningful and empathetic relationships with children and their caretakers
  • Strictly adhere to all IKEA play facility and safety & security policy and procedures
  • Support in other areas of the customer experience function as needed, such as cashier and greeter role to provide additional coverage when needed

  • Know the center's Emergency Action Plan for accidents and injuries, missing children, fire/tornado safety, etc. and demonstrate that knowledge during in-services and drills

  • Maintain order and discipline by enforcing rules and regulations and using appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Interact with participants, utilizing available resources to plan activities that meet their recreational needs and create an atmosphere of fun

  • Perform daily duties including accurate record keeping, monetary transactions, implementation of activities, daily/weekly cleaning duties and equipment and supply of care
