On behalf of the Health and Social Care Partnership, Randstad is urgently recruiting an experienced and dedicated Children & Families Social Worker who is available to start immediately. We are looking for a resilient, skilled professional who can confidently manage a complex, statutory caseload covering Child Protection, Looked After at Home, and Permanence cases. Because this team is managing a high volume of critical work, we require someone who can hit the ground running with minimal hand-holding. To maintain continuity of care for these vulnerable children and families, we can only accommodate full-time workers for this position. Hours: Full-Time (36 hours/week) | No part-time options available.
Job Responsibility
Managing complex Child Protection cases, including executing risk assessments and safety plans
Supporting children who are Looked After at Home, working closely with parents and wider support networks to ensure positive outcomes
Driving Permanence pathways forward, ensuring timely, stable, and long-term planning for children who cannot remain at home
Attending Children's Hearings, Court, and multi-agency case conferences to advocate for the best interests of the child
Requirements
Active registration with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) as a qualified Social Worker
A proven track record handling statutory Child Protection and Permanence cases within a UK local authority
Able to commit fully to a standard 36-hour work week
Ready to start ASAP or on a minimal notice period
A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for community and home visits
