A unique and rewarding opportunity to join Cranstoun’s North Somerset Domestic Abuse Support Service as a Children and Young Persons Support Worker. This role will deliver trauma-informed support to children and young people affected by familial domestic abuse through one-to-one and group interventions in schools, community settings and other outreach environments.
Job Responsibility
Deliver trauma-informed support to children and young people affected by familial domestic abuse through one-to-one and group interventions in schools, community settings and other outreach environments
Assess risk and need
Develop support and safety plans
Work closely with schools, children's social care, adult domestic abuse services and other partner agencies
Coordinate support
Manage risk
Promote safeguarding
Improve outcomes for children, young people and their families
Maintain accurate case records
Contribute to service monitoring
Help raise awareness of domestic abuse and healthy relationships
Requirements
Experience of direct work with children and young people
Experience with safeguarding and multi-agency working
Ability to assess risk and need
Ability to develop support and safety plans
Ability to deliver flexible, age-appropriate interventions
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A child-centred and trauma-informed approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team
Nice to have
