Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Worker to join a professional care team supporting children and young people with complex needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges. This full-time role involves providing consistent, nurturing, and structured care within a supportive residential environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional well-being and development
  • Support children in achieving their personal, social, and educational goals
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging home environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies
  • Assist with care planning, daily routines, and behaviour management strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports for internal and external professionals
  • Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem through tailored support and encouragement

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a residential or supported care setting
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and behavioural support strategies
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviours constructively
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
