Childcare Worker / Trainee Therapeutic Carer

• Provide high-quality daily care to children and support their emotional, physical, and educational needs
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and homely environment
• Support children with routines, activities, and engagement in education
• Assist with domestic tasks including cooking, cleaning, and general household duties
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans and reports
• Support safeguarding and promote the welfare of all children at all times
• Build positive, professional relationships with children, colleagues, families, and external professionals
• Encourage positive behaviour using agreed therapeutic approaches
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and attend meetings, training, and supervision sessions
• Contribute to a culture of safety, equality, and continuous improvement

• Understanding of child development and good childcare practice
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable)
• Good communication and written skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance
• Basic ICT skills for record keeping and reporting
• Awareness of the challenges faced by children in care
• A patient, resilient, and emotionally aware approach
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection is essential
• Candidates must understand the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries
